Our Story

Greetings to all, I am Suyen Arvizú I. and I am one of the two original Founders of the Costa Rica Real Estate Magazine, the magazine was founded toward the end of 1997, and at that time there was no other printed Real Estate magazine in the country.  A few years later other competitive magazines were founded in Costa Rica but they have all come and gone in these past years but our magazine is still here and growing.

When the magazine started , the cost to print in full color was extremely high so we offered ads in black & white with the option for the larger advertisers to place full color ads at a higher ad cost.  Therefore, advertisers like Century 21 Marina Trading Post, CARICO Real Estate, Isthmus Real Estate, Century 21 TK, Pitts Aviation, Tortuga Villas, Hotel Villas Playa Samara, Vista del Tropico,  Los Delfines and Costa Rica Highlights Tours were some of the long established companies that were willing to pay a premium price to have their ads appear in the magazine in full color.

We were able to see the beginning and be a part of promoting many new developments including being present for the placing of the first stone with the presence of the President of Costa Rica at that time, Mr. Miguel Angel Rodriguez at the Los Sueños Marina, Golf Course and Resort Development in Playa Herradura in the Central Pacific Coast.

The magazine has always had distribution of the printed issues throughout Costa Rica including the South, Central and North Pacific coasts as well as the Greater Metropolitan areas of San Jose, Heredia, and Alajuela.  In the last 5 years we have added distribution at major Expos and Shows in North America including the largest Yacht Shows in the World at Miami and Ft. Lauderdale and the major Travel Shows like the New York and the Los Angeles Travel & Adventure Shows.  Plus we have the digital version of the magazine online with the best application available for digital publications.  As Costa Rica regains its tourism normality and as the interest in not only visiting but also relocating, retiring and investing in Costa Rica grows tremendously, we are making sure the magazine reaches more and more people and helps our advertisers to reach their sales goals as we have done for the last 25 years!

Dear Advertisers and Readers, I am Suyen Arvizú, owner of the Costa Rica Real Estate Magazine, a Nicaraguan resident,divorced and mother of 4 beautiful children that God gave me. I hope you are safe from COVID 19. Maintaining prevention measures for you and your loved ones and workers.Thank you for being part of this new and renewed edition, Ihope you like it very much, we are open to advice and constructive criticism from everyone, we are always very interested in improving our publication.


Our interest is that your company receives the greatest exposure with the least possible investment, both nationally and internationally, in print and online.

This 2021 and 2022 is a stabilization period in which to reach the visitation goals according to statistics from Mr. Rubén León, President of CANATUR, it depends 100% on being proactive and creative as entrepreneurs, since advertising is the only way to reach our potential prospects, both nationally and internationally, let us remember that now more than ever is the right time to have the greatest possible exposure,taking advantage of the fact that Costa Rica is the most recommended post pandemic destination and happiest place for retirees, investors and tourists according to specials from different worldwide entities such as the UN.

In the words of the president of CANATUR, there are countries fi ghting to the death to have the visitation that Costa Rica has. Remember that every investor enters Costa Rica initially as a tourist to get to know the country and after a couple of visits decide where to invest.

Let us remember that fear is the worst enemy to success,let’s ask for wisdom, creativity and to give our very best effortswith everything we do, if possible.
